Key Stage 4 test out their consumer knowledge

Tue, 12 Apr 2016

On Thursday 17th March some members of KS4 went into Oxford to take part in 'The consumer quiz'  run by Oxford Trading Standards. Every year each of the local special schools send a team to take part. This year the Springfield team included Ben Howard, George Hiley, Tom James and Kieran Coxhead. Their fellow classmates and school mascot, Spike, also came along to support the team. We cheered and waved our banners and posters and tried to answer the questions ourselves. The team did very well and answered nearly all of the questions correctly and although we did not win everyone did themselves and Springfield proud.

Down on the farm with Tim's class!

Tue, 12 Apr 2016

Tim's class recently visited Southdown Farm, on the Crawley Road just off West End in Witney. This family enterprise is developing 22 acres into mixed farmland and selling local produce, including delicious soft goat's cheese, through their farm shop. The pupils enjoyed seeing the lambs, kids and chicks and helped feed the donkey and horse as well as bottle feeding some of the new lambs.

Pupils complete a triple whammy for Sport Relief!

Tue, 12 Apr 2016

Just before the Easter break Springfield pupils at the secondary site got stuck into raising money for Sport Relief by completing their own triathlon. Pupils were sponsored to swim, run and bike over the course of a few days. Most pupils took part and had great fun! There was cycling around a course in the playground, running around the Wood Green campus, running around the forest whilst at Forest School and completing swim challenges at the Wondrush Leisure Centre. What a great effort for a great cause!
